Chester Zoo is one of the premier Zoos in the UK and a major visitor attraction for the region.

The Animal Supplies Department provides a key service in supporting our World class animal collection. The team is responsible for supplying all foodstuffs and other supplies required by the animal departments as well as providing a range of other support services. The duties are highly varied and include: liaising with animal keeping staff, collecting and receiving supplies, making up and delivering daily animal food orders, management of animal waste, tractor work (including use of tractor based agricultural machinery such as skip loaders and grass mowers), working in our insect breeding colonies and servicing of animals in our quarantine facility.

Please note this is not a zoo keeper position.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with good communication skills to join our team and contribute to the important work of the zoo. A full driving license, including category E (trailers over 750kgs), is essential as is proficiency in tractor use (preferably certificated). Proficiency with forklift trucks is desirable, as is computer literacy and agricultural experience. Manual handling is a feature of this job.

40 hours per week, 5 days in 7. Salary £13,873 pa rising to £15,412 pa on completion of probationary period.
